The first $999 iPhone app was banned from the iTunes store after it was discovered that "I Am Rich" did nothing but, well, display to the world how rich (and gullible) the purchaser was.

But now, BarMax's $999 bar exam study guide takes the cake for app costs."It is the most expensive app," conceded BarMax's COO, Mehran Ebadolahi. "But when you look at it compared to how much [competitor] BarBri charges for an in-class prep course, this is a quarter of the price for what I think is superior quality."

About 450 people have downloaded the app, no small feat for a market where the audience is more interested in $.99 games about stacking cakes. BarMax plans to release an LSAT study guide soon.
