Cary And Sheryl Chaitoff
By Joan Caplin

(MONEY Magazine) – OCCUPATIONS: Marketing v.p.; account sales manager

RESIDENCE: Cleveland

BOTTOM LINE: Total assets, $350,000. Their combined 401(k)s total $75,000, and Cary has another $25,000 in an IRA rolled over from a previous employer's plan. The couple have invested $175,000 in individual stocks and stash the rest in a portfolio of mutual and money-market funds.

SUPERSAVERS: The Chaitoffs have been building their retirement fund since their twenties. "We've been able to invest and at the same time save for a bigger house," Sheryl, 30, says proudly. "We have discipline, fun discipline."

PRODUCT LOVERS: "You can tell I'm in marketing," quips Cary, 32, as he rattles off a few of his stock picks: Merck, Harley Davidson and 3Com. "They've all created a unique product or niche." Great pizza led the couple to invest in Papa John's after their first visit five years ago. The Chaitoffs' taste buds paid off: Their $10,000 stake tripled.
