(MONEY Magazine) – JAPANESE JAUNTS Through the end of March, Japan Airlines is offering a range of discounted package trips that combine sightseeing in Kyoto with a day at one of Japan's natural hot-spring spas, which are known as onsen. For example, a six-day, four-night package that includes round-trip air fare, all ground transportation, three nights accommodations in Kyoto, and a full day and night (including meals) at the Kinosaki onsen is $1,023 from West Coast cities. (Departures from Dallas, Chicago or New York City are $44 to $66 more.) For more details, check www.japanairlines.com or call 800-221-1081.

SKIING IN SPRING Late-season skiers can enjoy the slopes at Jackson Hole for far less than regular midseason prices. Ski Vacation Planners (888-822-6754) is offering round-trip air fare, seven nights' lodging in a Jackson Hole Racquet Club condominium (a five-minute shuttle from the mountain) and airport transportation for $850 from Chicago or Dallas and $900 from New York City, assuming double occupancy. Stay at the foot of the mountain for about $150 more. The mountain closes April 8. Meanwhile, Budget Rent a Car (800-283-4387) is offering a ski package throughout the Rockies until April 15: Customers who rent for five or more days get a one-day lift ticket and ski-rack rental free.

EBONUSES Several airlines are offering bonus miles to induce customers to book online. Southwest Airlines' Freedom reward members get double miles for booking at www .southwest.com for travel through June 30. Double credits add up to a free ticket after four round trips. And through the end of the year, Continental is urging fliers to use its automated services. You'll receive 1,000 miles for purchasing a ticket online (at www.continental.com) and another 1,000 for using an eService ticket kiosk to check in for a flight.

A BIG BUS DEAL Tired of airport delays? If you have a traveling companion, consider going by bus. At most Greyhound terminals, you'll receive a free companion ticket if you buy an unrestricted ticket. Tickets must be purchased at least three days in advance and travel must be completed by June 28. For details and locations, call 800-231-2222 or go to www.greyhound.com.

NO-RISK CRUISING Travel Services International (800 244-7447) is rewarding those who book a cruise by March 31 with guarantees on all international cruises. If you find a better price for the same berth, TSI will refund the difference. And if you're not happy with the cruise, the agency will fly you back from the first port of call and refund the unused portion of your fare. Traditionally, Carnival has been the only line to offer this type of guarantee--and as a result books a lot of first-time cruisers. But TSI's offer is good on 30 lines, including Crystal, Holland America, Radisson, Royal Caribbean and Seabourn.
