With the current generation of minivans, Chrysler was taken a bit by surprise by the popularity of the Stow 'n Go seating feature. (The back seats fold flat into cavernous spaces under the floor. When the seats are up, those spaces can be used for storage.)
In the new Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Caravan, Stow 'n Go remains, but the company is adding something called Swivel 'n Go seating, as well.
The van's second-row seats turn 180 degrees to face rearward, creating a space in which people can sit facing one another. A table can be installed between the second and third rows.
The company has crash-tested the vans with seats in both front- and rear-facing positions and with and without the table in place, according to a Chrysler spokeswoman.
