Power: 3.4-liter V6 with six-speed automatic transmission
Fuel economy: 20 mpg overall with all-wheel-drive (EPA estimate)
The Lincoln MKX isn't perfect but it's an excellent entry-level luxury crossover. It provides comfortable but controlled ride and good acceleration. While it doesn't offer a third row of seating, the seats it does have are roomy and comfortable.
It shares many of its major mechanical components with the V6 Ford Fusion sedan, a car that, according to Consumer Reports, is better in reliability than V6 versions of the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry.
If you've test-driven the Ford Edge, don't think you've driven the Lincoln MKX. The two vehicles are different and, even if the Edge wasn't to your liking, the MKX might be.
If you're looking for performance, an Acura would suit you better and a Lexus will have even better reliability scores and a more polished interior, but the MKX offers a light, nimble feel and a comfortable, airy cabin - with a topnotch stereo - for the daily commute.
