Why we chose it: For type-A heads of family firms, Loyola offers a course designed to teach business fundamentals to heirs as young as six. Its leadership program helps improve communication among tight-lipped family members, and brings in consultants to analyze all aspects of the participants' businesses, with an emphasis on training the next generation of company leaders. The Family Business Center also offers membership, with benefits that include access to mentors, resources, and programs such as the peer advisory board, where members are grouped by age, business type, professional role, and interest to discuss shared issues. Sub-groups of the expert-led peer advisory board meet 8 to 10 times a year.
