Designed by Venice, Calif., artist Elizabeth Paige Smith, this cat bed is constructed of laminated cardboard layers. Smith's unique home furniture has appeared in the pages of Architectural Digest and in the homes of celebrities such as actress Patricia Arquette. When Smith noticed her cat's affinity for napping on cardboard, she decided to use the materialas the foundation of an artsy bed for her pet. Smith sells three designs, including this new model, the Couchette.
