GMC Sierra Hybrid General Motors unveiled the Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid truck at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. At the Chicago show, GM will unveil the GMC version of that truck. Built with the same two-mode hybrid system used in the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrid SUVs, the Sierra Hybrid promises a 25% improvement in overall fuel economy. City fuel economy is 40% improved. Like the Silverado Hybrid, the Sierra Hybrid is rated to tow up to 6,100 pounds and can run in all-electric mode at low speeds, even when towing or hauling heavy loads, GM says.
