The all-new Kia Borrego is a good mid-size truck-based SUV. Unfortunately, that's like a restaurant coming with a really good half-pound bacon cheeseburger when everyone's gone on a diet. Compared to popular car-based crossover SUVs, the Borrego's fuel economy is sorely wanting.
Given the tough market and, surely, having noticed the success of General Motor's "Employee Pricing" incentive program, Kia is having its own version. "You pay the same," as Kia calls it, offers all of Kia's 2009 model year vehicles at the same prices that Kia's U.S. employees pay.
Customer rebates plus discounts add up to $2,800 on a Borrego or $1,800, total, off a Spectra sedan, to name two examples.
