American carmakers generally score very well in this category. But General Motors' new three-row SUVs - the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Chevrolet Traverse - were either not reliable enough or, in the Traverse's case, too new to provide enough data, according to Consumer Reports.
The Ford Flex is also too new to give enough reliability data. All of them scored near the top in their class otherwise, though.
The Taurus X, essentially a tall wagon version of the Ford Taurus, scored nearly as well in various tests, putting it just behind the other SUVs in terms of performance, comfort and convenience. But it's also "Good" in terms of dependability, earning it Consumer Reports' recommendation.
