John Finnegan
Age: 59
Job now: CEO, Chubb Corp.

The chief executive steered $18 billion insurance company Chubb through a treacherous market last year. AIG nearly went bankrupt and Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, a big insurer, lost 32%. Chubb, by comparison, lost only 6% of value the past year. Recruiters call Finnegan, a former GM and GMAC executive, a "hot ticket - a car guy and an insurance guy." Finnegan could fill in at a troubled company like like his insurance comrades Herb Allison at Fannie Mae or Ed Liddy at AIG.
