Fahrenheit's Samsung portfolio also yielded Samsung ID, which launched last year: Aimed at the tradeshow market -- which uses elaborate, often wooden, and largely un-reusable sets -- this Lego-inspired innovation uses LCD screens to create a customizable interlocking "plug and play" digital display system.
Not only is Samsung ID -- which won an International CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award -- more attractive than the usual tradeshow booth setup, it eliminates the huge cost of constantly building and tearing down the wooden versions.
It's one example of how Fahrenheit's process -- five months of industry immersion, idea-generation, and vetting for such essentials as technological and commercial viability -- allows the company to find solutions for its clients that are not only innovative, but potentially very profitable.
