I am concerned about: Health care, fostering small business

I'm struck by Obama's confidence and cool demeanor. I watch a lot of his press conferences, and his responses are so nuanced and complex. He's got it handled. He shows this situation is under control and he has a plan.

I'm cautiously optimistic about his language on health care. I run my own graphic-design business at Schwindamania.com. As a sole practitioner I'd like the option of paying into a government health-care plan.

My company is doing really well, with clients projected through the fall. I'm almost at the tipping point where I could hire someone else. If there were freelance people out there with their own health care, that would be great.

I'd like to hear more from Obama that addresses small businesses. All of my clients are local to Jackson, Miss., and we know that any economic resurgence that happens will start with small business. Also, I wish he'd encourage consumers to buy local in their communities from those small businesses.

More than any one policy, we needed a stable calm tone at the top. Obama has filled that role quite well.
