Frank Kratovil
1st District of Maryland

Kratovil squeaked out a victory in 2008 after a brutal primary left Republicans divided. When Republican state senator Andy Harris ousted incumbent Rep. Wayne Gilchrest to secure the GOP nod, Gilchrest threw his support to Kratovil. Now Kratovil is facing a rematch against Harris -- and once again has Gilchrest's backing. But this district is solidly Republican, and despite votes against the first version of the economic stimulus package and the health care overhaul, Kratovil faces an uphill climb in November.
