Carnival employees at Miami headquarters prepare to ship water, blankets, food and other emergency supplies.
Amount donated: $5 million

None of Carnival's Caribbean cruises stop in Haiti, but the company found creative ways to give after the earthquake.

Employees of its Carnival Cruise Lines rallied together to collect about 5,000 pounds of supplies, including water, protein bars, diapers, blankets and canned foods. Another Carnival brand, the Holland America Line, collected about 17,000 pounds of clothing, food and other relief supplies.

Onboard some ships, crews raised money by hosting auctions for shore excursions and golf lessons, and holding charity bingo matches.
