Most non-luxury CPO programs will only offer cars that go back up to six model years and with as much as 80,000 miles on the odometer.
So let's say you're looking at a three year old Chevy with 40,000 miles.
Bumper-to-bumper warranty: GM's CPO program offers one year, or 12,000 miles of coverage. That's good, since the original 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty would be all used up by now.
Powertrain warranty: GM's CPO program offers the same five year or 100,000 mile powertrain warranty as it extends to new car buyers. But that's calculated from the day it was first sold new. So you have two years of that left.
Other benefits: GM offers three months of OnStar and XM radio service for CPO customers.
