Bow out for a day
Bow out for a day
Taking a day off is perhaps the best gift you can give a horrible boss.

What if you don't want to give your horrible boss a gift? Perhaps you should give yourself one.

Those who just want to forget they have a bad boss for a while may want to spend Bosses Day at home, advised Marilyn Haight, author of Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Boss?

You can take a personal or a sick day and skip it altogether. You can go to the beach, veg out at home or search for a new, nicer boss.

Said Haight: "Could the message be any clearer? Especially if a half-million people stay home on Bosses Day. Besides if they're not present, they can spare themselves more angst."
