Once viewed with disdain as a cheap Volkswagen dressed up in a very un-Porsche-like Porsche body, the 914 has gone on to earn a certain respect in its own right, especially 6-cylinder powered versions. It's now seen as a predecessor to today's Porsche Boxster and its odd flat-backed roof-line seems kind of funky.
