Best places to do business in the wired world

Business travelers are as likely to find themselves in Seoul or Bangalore as they are on Sand Hill Road. But where to meet, eat and check e-mail? Not to worry. Our city-by-city list details the best places to get things done, no matter where you are.

Looking for a few good developers? So are IBM, Intel, Texas Instruments, and other tech giants, which have flocked to Israel for its tech savvy.

How to get around: In a city with no subway system, limited parking spots, and buses that are occasional terrorist targets, your best bet is to cab it. Taxis are plentiful and cheap.

Where to find free Wi-Fi: Bring your laptop to Café Joe (2 Weitzman St.; 972-3-693-2005) and admire the views of Tel Aviv through tall glass windows or from the ample outdoor seating.

Where to get a trim: The Shuki Zikri Salon is famous here, with 10 shops throughout Israel. The original location (183 Ben Yehuda St.; 972-3-544-1522) is within walking distance of most major hotels. Haircuts go for about $50.

Best place to get down to business: Head to Arcaffe (5 Shenkar St., Herzliya Pituach; www.arcaffe.co.il), a coffeehouse favored by professionals in the tech-centric Herzliya district.

Best place to celebrate closing the deal: Yoezer Wine Bar (2 Yoezer Ish Ha Bira; 972-3-683-9115) in Jaffa has an extensive selection of varietals and deliciously doused beef bourguignonne.

What you might not know: Don't overdress. Israelis keep it casual in just about everything they do.
