The Matrix got a makeover for the new model year. The new version gets a lower, sleeker look and a more powerful engine. It keeps its fold-down back seats for more cargo space and available all-wheel-drive.
The performance-tuned XRS version we tested was noisy inside, but it was quick and fun to drive. Fuel economy and pricing figures given here are for the base version.
