Subaru Forester

The Forester has long been a favorite crossover SUV. It's had plenty of utility with real four-wheel-drive ruggedness. But past versions have suffered from a dowdy "grandpa's station wagon" design.
We haven't tested the redesigned Forester yet, but based on what we already know, we'd be remiss in not mentioning it.
Improvements for the 2009 model-year start with a design that at least looks like someone cared. Subaru also increased the size slightly in all directions and improved suspension for a better ride and handling.
One thing that got a little smaller was the price, making the Forester even more interesting.
