The Commander is, basically, a puffed up version of the Grand Cherokee. The two even share the same 109.5-inch wheelbase. That may be one reason that the Commander drives as if it's on stilts, pitching and leaning around turns and over bumps.
The Commander is available with a 5.7-liter "Hemi" V8 that makes this SUV surprisingly quick. Just as surprisingly, overall fuel economy isn't any worse - not that that's saying much - than with the smaller V8 engine.
