Summary: This regional chain, started by two graduates of Rutgers pharmacy school in 1954, fell victim to competition from CVS, Walgreen, and the like. Owner Sun Capital Partners, a private equity firm that specializes in distressed assets, has seen 11 of its more than 80 portfolio companies go bankrupt since January 2008.
