Victor Sanchez and Kristiina Dorofejeva camped overnight at Best Buy in Woodland Park, N.J. for their first Black Friday ever, and found the competition was fierce but friendly.
"We had a party down there you wouldn't believe," Sanchez said.
"We know we're crazy. Bystanders were taking pictures," Dorofejeva said.
The economy has been tough on both of them. Sanchez saw his truck business go under and Dorofejeva has had difficulty finding steady work as a home health aide.
"We're broke. I don't know why we're out here," Sanchez said. "Last year we didn't even celebrate Christmas, it was so tough. That's why we've got to get out here and get good deals now."
Starting Black Friday, two U.S. malls will track guests' movements by monitoring the signals from their cell phones.
