Social media used: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Yammer, internal blog

Novo Nordisk considers social media a critical way to keep its corporate headquarters staff in Copenhagen on the same page as its U.S.headquarters in Princeton. The company offers an internal blog, Employee Exchange, for executives to discuss company issues such as benefits or retirement with staff. Other corporate events such as town hall style quarterly meetings also get a forum on the space.

The company also features two internal uploading sites, NovoTube and NovoPhoto, where employees can share and discuss video and photo content. The company says posts range from photos of local community service projects to forward-looking yearly videos by the CEO. While the company encourages such participation, it doesn't offer a specific training course for the sites' use, instead leaving posting policy and instructions on the company's blog.
