Cable stocks performed particularly well in 2006 and Comcast certainly reaped the benefits. Shares of the nation's largest cable provider soared, while the company sustained healthy subscriber growth in the face of competition from both the telecom and satellite television sectors. In July, it completed its joint acquisition of the bankrupt cable provider Adelphia, which lifted its subscriber base above the 23 million mark.But what makes Comcast a Wall Street darling is the fact that it's expected to see more revenue growth and bigger operating margins, helped by its bundled television, phone and high-speed Internet services.
