We do not charge for our content on the web and don't have plans to do so. But our content isn't free -- advertisers pay to be in front of our audience.
One of the things that I think is exciting about tablets and the iPad in particular -- although I haven't seen it in person -- is the presentation. For many of our readers, our ads are content. Many of our readers come to the paper because they want to find out what's on sale on Saturday at Macy's.
So the fact that you will be able to have ads on the iPad is just going to be a better user experience.
