The natural gas and oil giant made no major acquisitions last year but saw steady workforce growth to support its operations. Last year, Chesapeake opened new field offices in Oklahoma, Texas, and Pennsylvania, and added 1,700 new employees to its drilling service and land operations. Says a spokesperson: "Chesapeake forecasts workforce growth in relation to rig count, but allows for flexibility in those forecasts to best support operational growth throughout the year."
