Best Places to Live: Top 100

For this year's list we focused on smaller places that offered the best combination of economic opportunity, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community.

Twinsburg, Ohio
93. Twinsburg, Ohio
Population: 18,100
Median home price (2006): $233,796
Average property taxes (2006): $4,544

If you're looking for wide open spaces not far from a metropolitan hub, Twinsburg's 1,900 acres of parkland (that's more than a fifth of the city) should satisfy. Although it has commuters to Akron and Cleveland, huge in-town employers like Daimler-Chrysler, GE Energy, and Pepsi-Cola almost double the town's daytime population to 35,000, according to a city planning director. And a fun fact: The Twins Days Festival brings 2,000 sets of identical and fraternal twins and 30,000 onlookers to town every year for a talent show, field games, and a "Double Take" parade. -J.L.
