Google Solar
EI Solutions, based in Pasadena and hatched from Bill Gross's incubator Idealab, installed Google's new rooftop and parking-lot photovoltaic energy system. The project ranks as the largest solar-powered corporate office complex in the United States.

The solar electricity system powers Google's Mountain View campus and generates enough energy to power 1,000 typical California homes. The Pasadena firm says that the project required 9,212 solar panels from Sharp Electronics.
