Size: 12"x9"x1"
Battery life: 5 hours

Ergonomics: The Travelmate is the heaviest laptop tested and among the biggest in inches. Yet despite its size, the keyboard felt cramped.

Performance: With the fastest processor, the Travelmate easily ran several applications. It had the longest battery life, and it connects to the fastest wireless networks.

Bottom line: The Acer is relatively inexpensive, plus it's more powerful and smaller than regular laptops. But its heft counted against it.
