Ergonomics: The keyboard and the touchpad on this ultralight model are too tiny to use comfortably. Pros: Monitor swivels and is a touchscreen.

Performance: A DVD drive is an unexpected plus for such a teeny machine. Lots of ports and Wi-Fi add to the package. The processor is very slow, however.

Bottom line: You can install Windows for must-have apps. With its futuristic Japanese styling, the VYE will turn heads. But it's too awkward and slow to use for hours on end.
