Swarovski Crystal
Swarovski Crystal
The crystal-maker didn't pay a cent for its placement in the film -- at least not in fees. Instead, the company launched a marketing campaign promoting the movie, including putting SATC window decorations in more than 800 Swarovski boutiques around the world.

It also loaned products to the film's set: From chandeliers and champagne flutes, to blinged-out evening bags and a bedazzled wedding cake, the film is littered with Swarovski crystals.

Since movie studios often return many of the donated products, the return on investment can be huge, said Swarovski spokeswoman Livia Marotta. The "Power" evening bag, which retails for $850, sold out in most boutiques after its appearance in the first film, Marotta said. It reappears, along with Swarovski's $750 Kiosque bag, in Carrie's closet in the sequel.

And if crystals alone don't get the Swarovski message across, perhaps Miley Cyrus will. In her cameo, she's flanked by a banner prominently featuring the company's name and swan logo.
