The SPDR DB International Government Inflation-Protected Bond Fund (WIP) invests in debt issued by 18 countries, with the United Kingdom, France, Mexico, Italy, Germany and Canada accounting for the largest holdings.

That strategy is particularly compelling if you consider how record levels of Uncle Sam's debt weigh on the safe haven appeal of U.S. Treasuries, said James Dailey, chief investment officer at TEAM Financial.

The fact that the issuers pay interest and principals in their own currencies is also considered a benefit for investors, since the dollar is likely to remain weak.
