A new criteria of this year's ranking measures the number of controversial incidents a company is in involved in, and Chevron scored highly: It has not recorded any major accidents or spills in recent years.The company is also aggressively moving into low-carbon-dioxide-emitting biofuels. It also scores highly on stakeholder engagement with its "Power of Human Energy" advertising campaign asking consumers to start dialogues with the company about the world's energy future.
