Created with 14-karat white gold and diamonds, M.A. Reich & Co.'s Attraction design uses magnetic pull to create a circular pendant that unwinds into a Y-shaped necklace about 1.5 inches long. The Buffalo, N.Y., company was founded in 1919 by Melvin Allen Reich and is now run by his grandsons, Vinnie Davis, 53, and Bill Reich, 38. Fifteen years ago, Davis and Reich responded to the demand for diamond fashion jewelry by adding pieces like this to their stone-ring manufacturing business; today, the new designs allot for 50 percent of the company's focus. Men's stone rings in garnet, onyx, and sapphire are sold at Macy's.
