Why we chose it: UNC recognizes that entrepreneurs come from all walks of campus life. Its entrepreneurship minor for arts and science students has commercial, social, scientific and artistic tracks. "UNC does a good job of guiding students through courses that fit their own style of entrepreneurship," says Anthony Warren, professor and director of the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Penn State. Students can fulfill their summer internship requirement by working for an international or local venture. Many choose to intern with successful startups spawned on campus at Research Triangle Park. In the Launching the Venture course, undergrads are teamed up with professors and MBA students to experience every phase of business creation, from testing an idea's feasibility to running a venture successfully.
