Why we chose it: Known for its social entrepreneurship program, University of Colorado also offers the Sustainable Venturing Initiative, which helps launch green tech businesses dreamed up by undergrads. Startups have included a company that manufactures environmentally-friendly surfboards. Undergrads gain managerial experience in the Trep Cafe, a coffee stand that serves local brews and is owned and operated by the student-run Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization. During "Maymester," a three-week program after the spring semester ends, non-business students from any accredited college or university can attend an entrepreneurship boot camp and receive a Colorado University Business Intensive Certificate.
