No summer would be complete without a buddy movie and "Pineapple Express" could be the surprise hit of the season.
The film was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who also wrote last summer's "Superbad," which brought in $121 million in the U.S. Rogen also stared in Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" last summer.
Rogen and costar James Franco play a pair of stoners who find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time when a murder goes down. Hilarity ensues when the two are pursued by vicious killers, which prompts even more pot smoking.
"Pineapple Express" is not one of the obvious blockbusters due out this summer, Dergarabedian said. But he thinks it may have the potential to be a sleeper hit.
