San Diego: Oceanside
This Oceanside home has been on the market for two months and has only received lowball offers. Homes in the upscale neighborhood -- called Jefferies Ranch and located about 10 miles from the ocean -- fetched more than $900,000 during the boom.
Today, more affordable beachside homes can be found in Carlsbad and Oceanside, where prices have fallen nearly 50% since 2006, according to MDA DataQuick, when buyers flooded in from Orange County and San Diego.
