The most notable single feature on the new Escape will be its "kick start" liftgate. It's an answer to the age-old problem of how to put stuff into the back of an SUV when your hands are filled with the very stuff you want to put in it.
With this optional feature on the new Escape, you just wave a leg under the rear bumper to signal the liftgate to open. (You have to have the key fob in your pocket, though. It won't open for just anyone's leg.)
