After a record-breaking summer, the major movie studios are banking on the Toms (Hanks and Cruise), Julia, Nicole and Angelina to keep churning out box-office hits this fall.

Fans of the Coen brothers have been eagerly awaiting the duo's return to the dark crime drama genre. Some of the Coen brothers' best movies have been films such as "Fargo," "Blood Simple" and "Barton Fink," but the two have strayed from that style of movie in recent years.

This changes with their new film, "No Country for Old Men." The movie, about a series of violent mishaps after a hunter comes across a stash of cash and heroin near the Mexican border, has received many favorable reviews since it was shown at the Cannes film festival earlier this year.

While the Coen brothers' movies have never been big blockbusters, this movie could do better than their previous films if it winds up charming critics and receiving award nominations at the end of the year.

What's more, the movie is based on the book by Cormac McCarthy, who may now wind up being a bit of a box office draw himself. Earlier this year, McCarthy wound up being thrust into the mainstream spotlight after his latest novel, "The Road" was picked by Oprah Winfrey for her book club. The novel went on to win the Pulitzer Prize.
