Residents of these 25 counties enjoy some of the highest life expectancies in the U.S.
12. Johnson County, KS (tie)

Life expectancy at birth: 80.3 years Once a stop on the Oregon Trail, now a fast-growing Kansas City suburb, Johnson County has three cities on CNNMoney's 2008 list of 100 Best Places to Live: Overland Park (No. 9), Olathe (No. 11), and Shawnee (No. 39). Overland Park offers a historic downtown with a twice-a-week farmers market and a monthly Third Thursday event with open-air entertainment. The county is home to six major medical facilities and over 2,000 physicians.
Despite all this, housing prices, while high relative to the rest of Kansas, remain below the U.S. average.
