Age: 57
Wi-Fi coverage remains spotty, while cell-phone networks are expensive. That's the conundrum today's mobile Web users face.

Enter Craig McCaw, broadcasting scion and creator of McCaw Cellular, the heart of what's now AT&T's wireless operation. His latest company, Clearwire, aims to bring WiMax -- blisteringly fast broadband without wires -- straight to data-hungry consumers. In just the first quarter since its IPO, its customer base grew 20 percent to 258,000 subscribers.
