Homes from the fastest- and slowest-growing markets

Here are 12 median-priced homes in markets around the nation. Some of these markets are still gaining ground but in others, prices are headed down.

Tulsa, Oklahoma
12-month forecast: 4.3% gain
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Median home price: $135,000
This home's price: $138,900
Beds: 3
Baths: 1.5
Square feet: 1,926

Details: This 1920's home is located within walking distance of downtown, according to real estate agent Anthony Clark. It's in an up-and-coming neighborhood near the path of Oklahoma State's expansion, on the edge of the historic district where many of the residents are artists, musicians and members of the "knowledge economy."

All those factors should lead to faster price increases for this and other neighborhood homes.

Clark's colleague, Kasia Dupler, points out that home prices in Tulsa have never undergone the severe peaks and troughs of more volatile markets. Rather, they've risen steadily. And Dupler sees no reason to think the next 12 months will be any different.
