CNPC is a Chinese state-owned company responsible for fossil-fuel extraction. While most of its oil is produced domestically, it has been aggressive overseas, especially in Africa. In Sudan, CNPC produces 226,000 barrels per day, or about 3% of China's total demand. Thanks to a 52% increase in foreign production last year, revenues were up 32% to $110.5 billion.
