The Euro-American automaker's Mercedes unit grew revenues 9% in 2006, but Chrysler's revenues shrunk 6%. In an effort to restore that unit to its former glory, the company unveiled 10 new Chrysler models last year and had plans to launch eight more. But in May 2007, DaimlerChrysler cut its losses and sold Chrysler to U.S. private-equity firm Cerberus for $7.4 billion.
