Founded by the Moravian Church, Emmaus has since become a community welcoming to all while still retaining much of its history. In fact, many of the structures in the town's center are Pennsylvania state historical sites, including the striking Moravian Church building. Despite its small size, Emmaus is home to some big businesses, including health publisher Rodale Press, beer distributor Shangy's, and petroleum distributor Buckeye Pipe Line. Emmaus is also a great place for nature lovers, with many residents taking advantage of the ample camping and hiking activities in the Lehigh Valley. -B.N.
