What was the "a-ha moment" that led you into tech?
It was the impact of all forms of media on consumers in their local communities. As the Internet became more pervasive, and those communities became smaller by some measures but increasingly global on another, I got a rush that continues to drive me today.

What has been your most radical career shift, and how risky was it?
Without a doubt, my most radical shift was exchanging my investment banking and corporate development role in Los Angeles for an operations role at the Baltimore Sun in Maryland. I didn't have any real experience as an operator at that point in my career, so when I showed up at the printing plant, I quickly realized that I had entered a whole new world and felt very much outside of my comfort zone. At that point I could have taken the easy route and jumped back into my last role, but I just focused on the customer, jumped into the trenches with my team and never looked back.
