Not to be confused with the longer-roofed 280ZX of this era, which was designed to provide a little more practicality at the expense of performance, the 280Z is all sports car.

Collectors tend to prefer the original 240Z, in part because of the 280's mammoth bumpers, but the 280's fuel injected engine and optional factory air conditioning make it a more practical driver's car, said Hagerty Insurance president McKeel Hagerty.
